Funding Announcement

This summer, we officially announced that we are receiving funding from Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada (HICC) from their Natural Infrastructure Fund (NIF) to continue the expansion of the Mahone Bay Living Shoreline project! 

This funding from HICC will help support the development of the expansion site, further reducing the effects of flooding and mitigating coastal erosion in the town. This includes the construction of a stabilized vegetated bank, a nearshore breakwater, a raised dyke along 100m of Edgewater Street, consultation with local Indigenous communities, and environmental assessment of the surrounding fish and fish habitat.
